This paper presents a modified stage gate model and process to implement new product development. This stage gate model can be easily adapted for IT stage gate model and process.
This paper describes key aspects of new product development (NPD) - the new product in our case is a new IT project/program/initiative! - implemented by a virtual geographically dispersed team. This stage gate model does not replace existing systems and processes in an organization, rather supports communication and sharing among a virtual geographically dispersed team.
The authors claim that this modified stage gate model and process will lead to better, more cost effective products developed and delivered quickly.
